“God!, He’s aged so much!!!” – that was the thought that hit me first when I saw Bill Gates in his latest video. As the movie rolled on, it srtuck me that the old warhorse has got his game spot on. Any one who views the demo of Microsoft Surface for the first time is sure to be floored by the immense possibilities this technology can open-up in the future.
Surface Computing has been around for a while – from the popular touch screen phones to the latest iPod-Touch, it is constantly evolving. But Microsoft has taken this concept to an entirely new level. Picturise this, you and your friend go to a bar and you put your credit card on the table. The table instantly recognises you and starts showing up your favourite drinks on the table based on your past choices. You can order your refreshments by touching the table and your card gets billed automatically. Sounds sci-fi? Well, you may get to see such gizmos in your friendly neighbourhood bar very shortly.
This and many more, makes Microsoft Surface, truely the technology of the future. Check out the website’s flash contents to be blown over.
As Bill Gates says, instead of putting a computer on every desktop, every desktop will become a computer – soon.
ARR-Chinmayi duo storms through competition to stake claim for this year’s SOTY title. Compared to the peppy “Roobaroo” from Rang De Basanti (winner of SOTY 2006), 2007’s nomination is an authentic soul-stirrer, that grows on you slowly. All the best Rahman and Chinmayi – hope you bring out more such works.

Never knew Micheal Crichton wrote some 8-odd books as John Lange. Excerpts read like Robin Cook’s. Hope its isn’t as bad.
Passing a day is like moving through a tank of molasses lately. Oh ya, my to-do list runs in reams. But I’m hell bent on whiling away this part of my life – and may be I deserve it.
Actually I’ve been doing nothing for a while now -except procrastinating and barely getting responsibilities off my back. Thats when I decided to get back to the best time-killer I’ve ever known – reading novels. But with the lousy library that I’ve access to and my pronounced “love and affection” for its staff, I was in a limbo.
Then came the savior in the form of Microsoft Reader. Its lite, can read and best of all free. Whats more, the file sizes that I need to download are ridiculously tiny – so much for the 75 GB download limit.
Now, I’ve got enough books to see me through the rest of the college days.
And with it comes the familiar feeling – guilt.

Happy Birthday to MS. She would’ve been 91 this 16th. Few songs can match her masterpieces like this – pure bliss.
Now, that’s one decision that’s left everybody bewildered. Dravid has been seen as a capable captain, if not in the leagues of Saurav dada. He wasn’t as flamboyant, but did his job from the sidelines. He’s one captain, it seemed can balance the pressures of leadership and batting. But Walls do crumble.
Hope the Wise men choose someone who can lead the team at least until the next WC. My choice’d be Dhoni – time to look beyond the old war-horses now.
